Summary
- This website sets no cookies, uses no tracking (except the self-hosted, anonymised audience measurement described below) and embeds no external content: fonts are served from our own server, and there are no social media plugins, no third-party videos or maps and no advertising. The product video is stored on our own web space and is only loaded when you start it.
- We do not store access logs. Only if an error occurs with a request does the web server record it, including the IP address, in an error log that is deleted after 14 days at the latest.
- The WePrintEasy software does not transmit any data to us or to third parties.
Hosting and server log files
This privacy policy applies to weprinteasy.com (English version) and weprinteasy.de (German version). Both websites are hosted by 1blu AG, Berlin. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the host.
To deliver a page or file, the web server has to process the IP address of your device and the details of your request (requested address, date and time, browser and operating system) for the duration of the connection. We do not store access logs.
Only if an error occurs with a request (for example a malformed or rejected request) does the web server record it in an error log with the date and time, the IP address of the requesting device, the requested address and the error message.
This processing is necessary to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and security (for example to fend off attacks) and to analyse errors. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and proper operation of the website. The error log is deleted after 14 days at the latest unless a specific security incident requires longer retention for evidence purposes; in that case the data concerned is kept until the matter has been resolved.
Encrypted transmission
This website is delivered exclusively encrypted via HTTPS (TLS). Using HSTS (HTTP Strict Transport Security), it instructs your browser to use only encrypted connections.
No cookies, local storage in your browser
We do not set any cookies. So that the website remembers your settings, it stores the following information in your browser’s local storage (localStorage):
- the language you chose (
wpe-lang) and whether you closed the hint about the other language version (wpe-lang-hint), - the light or dark mode you chose (
wpe-theme).
The only exception to not using cookies: if you object to audience measurement (see “Web analytics with Matomo”), Matomo stores this objection in an opt-out cookie on your device so that it is respected on later visits.
This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. Storing it is strictly necessary to provide the setting you explicitly requested; the legal basis is § 25 (2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
Contact by e-mail or phone
If you contact us by e-mail or phone, we process your details (for example name, e-mail address, phone number and the content of your enquiry) to handle your enquiry. E-mails to us are stored in a mailbox at IONOS SE, Montabaur; a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the provider. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR insofar as your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete the data once the enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations (for example under commercial or tax law) apply.
Links to other websites
This website contains links to external services (for example GitHub or Microsoft documentation). Merely visiting our pages does not transmit any data to these providers. Only when you follow a link does the respective provider process your data under its own responsibility; its privacy policy applies.
Web analytics with Matomo
For statistical analysis of how the website is used, we use the open-source software Matomo, which we operate ourselves on a server at BERO-HOST; a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the provider. It records the pages viewed, links and downloads clicked, the referrer, browser, operating system, screen resolution and language setting as well as the date and time of the visit. No cookies are set. Your IP address is shortened by two bytes, and thus anonymised, before it is stored. The data is not passed on to third parties. Raw data is deleted after six months at the latest.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is to improve the website on the basis of anonymous usage statistics. If your browser has “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” enabled, no data is collected.
You can object to the collection here at any time. Your objection is stored in an opt-out cookie on your device; if you delete your cookies, you need to object again.
The WePrintEasy software
WePrintEasy runs exclusively on the servers of the respective operator. The software contains no telemetry and does not transmit any data to us or third parties on its own. The data it processes – for example account names, SIDs, printer assignments and logs – stays on your systems; we have no access to it.
Only if you explicitly choose “Fehler auf GitHub melden…” (report a bug on GitHub) in the info dialog of the admin console does your browser open a pre-filled form on GitHub. The system information it contains has no computer, user, domain or server names, and nothing is transmitted until you submit the form there yourself. If you specify a timestamp service for code signing, the installer contacts this service while signing.
Your rights
You have the following rights with regard to the personal data concerning you:
- right of access (Art. 15 GDPR),
- right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR),
- right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),
- right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- right to withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR), insofar as processing is based on consent.
Simply contact us using the details above.
Insofar as we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest), you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. You can send your objection informally to hello@weprinteasy.com.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is:
Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA)
Promenade 18
91522 Ansbach, Germany
No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
Obligation to provide data
You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide us with personal data. Without the technically necessary data described under “Hosting and server log files”, however, the website cannot be delivered.
